  • WHAT'S A BRAZILIAN WAX?
    A Brazilian wax is the removal of all of the pubic hair, front and back, using wax.
  • HOW LONG SHOULD MY HAIR BE FOR A WAX APPOINTMENT?
    If you have been shaving, you will need at least 3 weeks growth to get a good wax. The hair should be atleast a rice grain in length.
  • HOW SHOULD I PREPARE MY SKIN FOR A WAX?
    Exfoliate at least 2 days prior to your appointment (not the day of). This will prepare the hair to come out with ease. For facial waxes, you do not need to exfoliate prior.
  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY WAXING TREATMENT?
    Every four weeks. Regular waxing is essential. The skin will be less sensitive if waxing is done every 4 weeks. Over time, with regular waxing, the hair follicle will have less and less of a grip on the hair to be pulled and the hairs will come out more easily. Another reason to wax frequently is that you may even experience less hair growth over time.
  • IS BODY WAXING SANITARY?
    It is at Dream Skyn Esthetics. There is never any double-dipping of our waxing implements, and therefore, no risk of cross-contamination.
  • WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO PREVENT INGROWN HAIRS BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS?
    For the next 24-48 hours avoid on the waxed areas: use of exfoliating products (Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products, loofahs, scrubs, etc.) direct sun exposure and tanning beds creams with fragrance or ingredients that may irritate deodorant: it results in irritation and clogging of open follicles wearing tight clothing: results in irritation and inflammation excessive heat, such as that from hot tubs and saunas. Warm showers are okay. exercise, if it may cause chaffing or sweating touching the freshly waxed area: this encourages irritation After 24-48 hours, regular exfoliation with a product recommended by your wax specialist will help keep skin soft and prevent ingrown hairs.
  • WHO SHOULD NOT BE WAXED
    Anyone currently taking Accutain or who has taken Accutain at any time within the past 6 months. Anyone who has an active Herpes outbreak Anyone with a sunburn on the area to be treated Anyone who has had a chemical peel over the treatment within the past 7 days Anyone who has used any type of Retinol within the past 36 hours over the treatment area Any area of the skin showing signs of trauma, varricose veins, open or active acne lesions, eczema, psoriasis or any type of dermatitis will not be waxed
  • WHAT TYPE OF WAX DO YOU USE?
    We use a high grade hard wax for all areas of the body. Hard wax is placed onto the body and then removed. It adheres to the hair, and not the skin.
